Take your favorite Nintendo heroes in your hands and experience a whole new way to play your favorite games for Nintendo 3DS family devices and Wii U consoles thanks to amiibo, collectible figures and cards containing special chips for reading and writing data! How does it all work? Just touch your amiibo to the NFC reader area built into the Wii U GamePad or the bottom screen of your New Nintendo 3DS or New Nintendo 3DS XL (a separate NFC reader can be purchased for older Nintendo 3DS devices) and then just watch what happens on your screens.

In compatible titles, amiibo can do wonders. In some cases, they add special costumes or equipment, and in others, entire game modes! In games like Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, you can even train compatible amiibo figures into ultimate fighters who will remember their opponents' playstyles and even collect new game items for you. The list of supported titles is constantly growing for new and previously released amiibo, and supported titles include, for example, such gems as Mario Kart 8, Yoshi's Woolly World, Splatoon, Hyrule Warriors and Hyrule Warriors Legends, The Legends of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and Super Mario Maker.
