Touch, watch and join the game!

Discover a new way to interact with your favorite Nintendo character. When you touch the NFC touch point on the Wii U GamePad controller while playing a game, data is transferred to the game, which you can use in a variety of ways. As you play, the data in your figure will update - so continue playing and create your own unique amiibo! The first set of figures is for Smash Bros. for Wii U.

In Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, you can transfer data from your amiibo figure directly into the game and then fight with it. Gradually, your amiibo will be improved with additional skills and game attributes - such as greater strength and new moves. You can also add your own customized moves!

You can use amiibo figures in many different games – and the style they can be used in depends on the game! New characters from many different game titles are released regularly.

You can also use amiibo figures when playing on handheld consoles! The New Nintendo 3DS has built-in NFC technology, which allows you to connect an amiibo figure to a game by simply touching it to the bottom touch screen. For use with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS, it will be possible to purchase special accessories, which are planned for 2015.
