Touch, watch and join the game!

Discover a new way to interact with your favorite Nintendo character. When you touch an NFC touch point on the Wii U GamePad, Joy-Con or Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, the bottom of the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL handhelds, or the special device for older Nintendo 3DS handhelds while playing a game, data is transferred to the game, which you can use in a variety of ways. Some games also record the data in your character as you play, so you can create truly unique amiibo figures.

Join a wide range of games!

You can use amiibo figures in a wide variety of games – and the way they can be used depends on the game! New characters are released regularly from a wide variety of game titles. For a complete list of compatible amiibo figures for Nintendo titles, visit nintendo.com/amiibo/compatibility.

Compatible with New Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 3DS/2DS

Amiibo figures can also be used when playing games on handheld consoles! The New Nintendo 3DS has built-in NFC technology, which allows you to connect an amiibo figure to a game by simply touching it to the bottom touch screen. Special accessories can be purchased for use with Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.
