Rise of the Floodborn is the second Disney Lorcana expansion, introducing Floodborn characters — a new card type that can "shift" directly on top of an earlier version of the same character for a cost, instantly gaining their abilities and Lore value. The mechanic added a fresh layer of deckbuilding depth to Lorcana's core gameplay, letting decks scale up their strongest characters mid-game.
