A whole new level of motion gaming

A unique multiplayer combat sport that lets you trade blows with extendable arms, ARMS combines elements of boxing and shooters. After customizing your character with a variety of weapons, players grab one Joy-Con in each hand and begin throwing left and right punches at their opponent. Characters can jump and dodge, while players can curve their punches as they go. Additionally, as players learn the game and improve their skills, they will begin to discover more advanced tactics.

ARMS can be played against the computer, friends, or in split-screen mode using an additional set of Joy-Cons sold separately, online, or with a dual Nintendo Switch console for local multiplayer.

A new dimension of control

The versatile Joy-Cons offer a variety of surprising gaming experiences. Two Joy-Cons can be used in one hand each or together as a single game controller using the Joy-Con grip. They can also be connected to the console in handheld mode or shared with a friend for two-player multiplayer fun in supported titles. Each Joy-Con has its own full set of buttons and can therefore be used as a standalone controller, while also being equipped with an accelerometer and gyroscopic motion sensor, which allows for independent right and left motion control.

The left Joy-Con also features a Capture button, which allows players to take instant screenshots of their gameplay with one click and share them with friends via social networks. The right Joy-Con, in turn, features an NFC point for interacting with amiibo figures, as well as an IR motion camera capable of detecting the distance, shape and movement of nearby objects in games specially designed for these functions. For example, this feature can determine how far the player's hand is and what shape it is forming.

Both Joy-Cons also feature an advanced HD rumble function, which allows players to feel a much more realistic vibration response than ever before in compatible games. This effect is so detailed that players can, for example, feel the vibrations of individual ice cubes inside a glass that the Joy-Con is simulating. With the HD rumble feature, players will be able to experience a new level of realism, unattainable through sight and hearing alone!
