Nintendo Switch Lite supports all Nintendo Switch software that can be played in handheld mode. A great choice for those who have plenty of opportunities to play outside, as well as anyone who enjoys online or local wireless multiplayer with friends and family and already owns the flagship Nintendo Switch console.

As a dedicated handheld gaming device, Nintendo Switch Lite does not support connecting to a TV.

Taking your favorite games with you has never been easier

Nintendo Switch Lite runs all Nintendo Switch software that supports handheld mode.

If a game supports Joy-Con features such as HD rumble, IR Motion Camera or Joy-Con motion sensors, some features are not available on the Nintendo Switch Lite console itself. For this, you can purchase Joy-Con controllers (sold separately).

For games that don't support handheld mode, players can wirelessly connect Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) to their Nintendo Switch Lite. In this case, you will also need to have a Joy-Con charging grip available. Information on the compatibility of individual game modes can be found on the packaging or in the Nintendo eShop.

Local multiplayer

Players can sync up to eight Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite consoles and play multiplayer games, either together or against each other.

With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can play with friends remotely or with random players around the world, access an ever-growing library of NES games with added online features, enjoy exclusives such as TETRIS® 99 and Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, and more!

Technical specifications

Nintendo Switch Lite supports Handheld mode only. It's easy to take with you on the go. The compact and lightweight console with integrated controls is compatible with all Nintendo Switch software that supports Handheld mode. The console does not have an HD rumble or IR Motion camera and cannot be connected to a TV or inserted into the Nintendo Switch docking station. It has a capacitive 5.5" LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, the console's battery lasts longer than the flagship Nintendo Switch, but depends on the software and conditions of use. The console weighs approximately 275 g.
